Huge Pools Around the World

There are many beautiful and impressive swimming pools around the world - some have breathtaking views in exotic locations, some have a peaceful and relaxing environment, and some are just huge. Ok, some are a combination of these things too - so let’s take a look at some interesting ginormous pools around the world.

#1. Lagoon at the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

Created by Crystal Lagoons, the same development group that made the now second largest pool in the world - the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt is over 30 acres in size and looks stunning - wow!

#2. Lagoon at San Alfonso del Mar, Chile

Before the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh took its title, the saltwater lagoon at San Alfonso del Mar in Chile held the title for 9 years. It is over 1000 yards long, has over 66 million gallons of water and has a 115ft deep end!

#3. The Pools at MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas, NV

This is more of a complex of pools and a man made river, but the pool(s) at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, NV - measuring 53,000 sq ft. is pretty impressive.

#4. Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore has one of the largest hotel swimming pools in the world. It also provides amazing views of the city skyline. It’s “only” 150 meters long, but holds the title for the world’s largest infinity pool.

#5. El Campo Texas Private Pool

Hotels and fancy community developments aren’t the only ones with huge pools. Private homeowners are building their own super sized pools too! One family in El Campo Texas (near Houston) owns what they claim is the world’s largest backyard pool. At 600,000 gallons it’s hard to argue that this thing is huge. Apparently the owners had people coming far and wide to visit their oasis after it got some exposure on a local news channel. This one is NOT open to the public!

#6. Houston Texas Private Pool

Despite the claim that the previous pool was the largest pool in the world, another home in Houston, Texas claims to have an even bigger pool - at least by gallonage. This 14 million dollar estate claims to have a 1,000,000 gallon pool in addition to a couple of other ‘ordinary’ sized pools. The tennis court is a nice value add too!

#7. NASA Neutral Boyancy Lab, Houston Texas

At some point growing up almost every child dreams of becoming an astronaut. Here’s some incentive to get there. The Neutral Buoyancy Lab is run by NASA and is used for astronaut training. The pool even contains a scale mock up of the International Space Station! It measures 202 feet long, 102 feet wide, 40 feet 6 inches deep, and holds 6.2 million gallons of water.

These are just some of the huge pools that are out there.  Do you know of any impressively large pools around the world?  Let us know in the comments!
